How to Generate Buzz for Your Launch

Since I work with my full branding clients from start to finish I get to witness them launch their new brand to the world. It’s always so exciting! I love watching my clients get excited about launch day and helping them strategize how to make their launch really special by generating hype across social media and making people aware that something is happening. When brainstorming for my full branding experience and what it includes I tried to think “What would I want done? What would I need help with?” and hands down how to generate hype for my launch is definitely something I would need help with. And in all honesty when I rebranded this past winter I did get help from Jamie of Marigold & Grey. She’s awesome!

I came up with a few good ideas to generate buzz for your new brand (some of them courtesy of Jamie ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

  1. CHOOSING YOUR LAUNCH DATE. Choose a launch date for your big site reveal. Showing your site is really the bulk of your brand so this is the big day.
  2. CREATE A SOCIAL MEDIA CALENDAR. Brainstorm a list of things you can show on social media that would get people interested. For all of my clients I create a dozen instagram images for them to use leading up to their launch with things like their mood board, a snippet of their logo, the full logo, color palette, brand board, home page snippet, full home page, etc. This list goes on! Work backwards from your launch date and write down when to show what on the calendar. I literally printed out a calendar sheet and wrote things down including blog posts too. Create a hashtag so people can follow along!
  3. GET OTHERS INVOLVED. Get some friends who have large social media followings involved so they can repost your images on Instagram, etc. Having pretty images is key though. They will be more likely to repost a pretty image. Style your images and take pretty pictures! Have fun with it!
  4. HAVE A BRANDED STYLED SHOOT. Get together with some friends and take pretty pictures of things related to your brand. You can use these images in your social media, on your website, ย and marketing pieces. It could be pens and ribbon that are your brand’s colors or if you have certain icons like keys, succulents, use them! Make sure everything relates to your brand. Get some logo cookies! (I recommend Fresh Bakes).
  5. GIVEAWAY. Everybody likes free stuff. Let’s be real. Choose something that represents your brand. For example, my client Lauren Simmons chose a light blue Kate Spade bag to giveaway for her launch. Her brand is sooooo Kate Spade and blue so this was perfect. Make the giveaway a challenge by having people like your facebook page, follow you on Instagram, and tag three people. The more the merrier! Use a random chooser website to pick a winner.
