I have started working with Deborah of The Little Garden Spot this past month and she is amazing! Deborah took her love for gardening and florals and made it into her business. With her kids now out of the house she was getting bored and wanted to do something fun! I sat down with her a few weeks ago to discuss her ideal client and industry niche. We also discussed visuals, packages, pricing, and more. Here is a little interview with Deborah and her experience as well as her ideal client we came up with and mood board. Deborah was actually one of those clients that needed to see what she didn’t want so she could know what she did want. That’s very common. For that reason you’ll see TWO mood boards. Sometimes we have to adjust but better to do it up front than later!
It has helped me to focus on the possibilities..
Yes. I needed to hone in on a particular type of client because I had several types of people that I work with. It helped me for you to say just because I had a certain type of client didn’t mean that I couldn’t do the other areas too. Before, I couldn’t grasp that part of being so specific.
Have you been confident so far in seeing the design work after our coaching session? Can you see how the session influenced the design? Do you think it made it easier?
Yes and no. I think I had to see the designs to know what I wanted or didn’t want. I honestly had no idea what it was all going to look like.
I felt like I have direction and my “lane” is not quite as wide. At first, I was worried about giving a minimum price but it is going to be better in the long run.
