With a background in marketing I decided to use those skills to give each of my full branding vendor clients a brand coaching session. We discuss many things during this session either in my home studio or over Skype, but the two main things I accomplish are definitely an ideal client and industry niche. I asked Theresa of Theresa Bridget Photography, a current client in progress, a few questions to share her experience with the coaching session in the hopes that some of you readers will see how important it is!

What did you love most about your brand coaching session?

I really loved watching my brand develop in front of my eyes and it really helped me get a clear picture of what I want for Theresa Bridget Photography. Before my brand was just a bunch of words and pictures I liked, after the coaching my brand is focus, defined and me. I am an organized person and I like structure and focus, the branding session gave me that and thus gave me confidence in the overall process.

Did you feel like we established your ideal client and niche? Why is that important to you?

Yes and I feel like before the session I had a different view of my ideal client than after. While I wanted one thing for my niche, after talking I realized I really loved my outdoor estate type weddings. I feel like I really got a picture of what is ideal for me. This is super important because it helps me focus on what type of images to share on social media and how to attract more weddings I love.

Have you been confident so far in seeing the design work after our coaching session? Can you see how the session influenced the design? Do you think it made it easier?

Yes, I am super confident that my brand is being shaped and cultivated based on the session. I also love your willingness to work with me when there are things that I don’t quite love (like creating the perfect logo).

How did you feel after the brand coaching session?

After the branding session, I feel as if I can see my brand coming to life. I have all of these pictures in my head of what I want Theresa Bridget Photography to be, but I really needed the session to help define them. It also helped me see what I liked. For example with the logo, I kept being drawn to the ‘pretty and girly logo’ but realized that it didn’t define my brand as well as the simple and elegant logo, before the branding session I would not have thought in these types of terms. I am making decisions based on what I want for my business.
