For every small business owner I work with I have a brand coaching session to discuss many things, but to mainly define their target client and industry niche. Once that is done I create a mood board with a color palette and collage of images that represents and overall look and feel for their brand. My lovely planner for the Ribbon & Ink launch party, Alyssa of Lovely & Bubbly Events, thought it would be cool to incorporate this mood board process into the event, but not only that, make it a favor for people to take home! We came up with this idea we called “The Brand Styling Bar” where we had magazine clippings, ribbon, paper, fabric, and other items for people to pin onto their own little linen covered cork boards and take home with them. The idea was guests would create their own inspiration board for their own brands! We turned this craft into an instagram challenge and had people use our party hashtag to determine the winner of a custom styling gift by Marigold & Grey.
