I was so thrilled to have Jen of Jen S Photography do some family portraits of my little family as well as some images of my hunky husband and I. It’s important for me to have images of us in our home to remind us of our values and where we are at that point in our life. Last year we had pictures done with Dana of Dana Rose Lee Photography and I was so happy with the results. We centered that shoot around Joe’s first birthday. This shoot with Jen was just meant to be a where we are in life shoot and I love the resulting images. Jen was able to capture us as we are.

I have always known I wanted to own my own business. In fact, in speaking with a friend a few months ago he said he remembers when I told him in high school I was going to own my own business to be at home with my kids and drive a Cadillac Escalade. Okay so the Escalade dream didn’t happen, but I’m okay with that. The important part did: I’m able to own my own business at home with my kid(s). My goal for my business was never to grow beyond myself and my one woman. My goal was simply to make enough income to provide my family a comfortable lifestyle, to do what I love, and to spend time with my kids. I am accomplishing all of those. I don’t need to make six figures to do that. Sometimes it’s tempting to me to try to get as much work as I can to get there and become so much more “successful”, but, to me, I realize being successful is accomplishing my simple goal and I’m totally content with that. This is why I do what I do.
